The Steven’s Creek hat is named for a local trail where my family and I like to go hiking and biking. Like the trail, this hat is colorful and interesting without being too difficult to tackle.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Skills/Techniques: Two-color stranded knitting
Yarn: Plymouth Yarn DK Merino Superwash (130 yds, 50g, 100% Superwash Fine Merino Wool: 1 skein #1123 Peapod (MC) and 1 skein #1132 Greenlake (CC), or approximately 130 yards of smooth, dk-weight wool yarn in a solid color for MC and approximately 80 yards in a contrasting solid color for for CC.
Needles: #4 US (3.5 mm) 16"/40 cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge
#3 US (43.25mm) 16"/40 cm circular needles, or one size smaller than that used to obtain gauge
#4 US (3.5 mm) needles for working at very small circumferences in the round, or size to obtain gauge
Notions: tapestry needle, scissors, stitch marker
