Yes, a simple crochet choker can look genuinely witchy

A delicate spiderweb lace choker that works up in just 5 rows — quick enough for a last-minute Halloween costume, pretty enough to wear year-round with a gothic or alternative outfit. Choose between fingering weight for an easier make, or lace weight for a more delicate finish. Doubles as a headband.

Written for 2 mm hook and fingering weight cotton or 1.25 mm hook and lace weight yarn.

What makes this pattern special?

The spiderweb motif is worked flat in only 5 rows — no complicated construction, no seaming. The two yarn weight options give you real creative control: the fingering version is beginner-friendly and more forgiving, while the dainty lace version produces something jewellery-like. Finished with a satin ribbon tie for a clean, wearable result.
