The Church
What does it mean to build the church according to God's plan? In The Church, Evangelist W.T. Elliott begins with Matthew 16:18–19 and emphasizes that Christ's church is a people, not merely a building or an organization.
Using a contractor's blueprint as an illustration, he points listeners back to Scripture as the guide for the church's foundation and work. Apostolic teaching on repentance, baptism in Jesus' name and receiving the Holy Ghost leads into three practical principles: do and teach, witness and wait, and rise above setbacks to move forward.
Elliott connects those principles with everyday opportunities to share what God has done, persistent prayer for others, and renewed commitment within the congregation. His closing appeal invites believers to participate in the church's spiritual renewal and mission.
