SEPARATE AND SEGREGATED – I Have Separated You From Other People by Bro H
Scripture begins with a God Who divides: He divided light from darkness, Dry land from the sea, Clean from unclean, Holy from common, Israel from the nations. When those distinctions are erased, Holiness is erased with them. [Verse 1] You formed a people and placed on them Your Name, You gave them Your Law and appointed their domain. Their worship and their households, their Sabbaths and their land, Their judgments and inheritance were ordered by Your hand. “You only have I known of all the families of earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.” Election was no license to live as nations do; The people You had chosen must remain distinct and true. [Chorus] “I have separated you from other people, That you should be Mine.” A peculiar treasure, a kingdom of priests, A holy nation by design. “Come out from among them and be separate; Do not touch the unclean.” The God Who chose Jacob has never changed; Be holy, distinct, and clean. [Verse 2] Before they reached Mount Sinai, You made the difference plain: Goshen stood protected while the plagues fell on the land. “I will put a division between My people and your people”; Their homes, their land, and cattle showed the difference You had made. To every nation You appointed boundaries and lands, But Jacob was Your portion—Israel in Your hands. At Babel You confounded one rebellious human power; Man’s universal kingdom cannot be Your holy tower. [Verse 3] Our fathers said, “We will be like the nations of the lands,” Serving wood and stone, adopting foreign gods and plans. But You replied, “As I live, with an outstretched arm, And with fury poured upon you, I will rule and make you learn.” We could break the covenant, but never make it void; We could copy foreign customs, but remain the people of Your choice. Our wish to be like everyone was rebellion in Your sight, For You had called us to be separate and upright. [Verse 4] “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, the sword will devour you.” The stranger rises over you; while you sink beneath his hand; He becomes the head and lender; you lose authority and land. “Who gave Jacob to the robbers? Was it not the Lord, He against Whom we sinned, refusing Law and Word?” Houses, fields, and government pass into others’ hands; National dispossession starts when sin controls the land. [Verse 5] The false diversity gospel makes its calculated trade: Universal membership for the covenant people Yahweh made. It substitutes inclusion for the holiness of God, And calls racial mixing peace while Israel’s Houses are forgot. It invents a “spiritual Israel” where the fathers disappear, Then calls each ordered boundary prejudice and fear. But it cannot erase inheritance, household, tribe, or place; Unity beneath one Lord does not abolish race. [Bridge] Ahaz saw the altar in Damascus and brought its pattern home; He placed the copy in Your Temple and displaced what You had shown. The foreign order he admired became the source of Judah’s ruin; Hezekiah cleansed the Temple and restored the service You had given. Daniel did not blame his captors; he confessed what Israel did: “We departed from Your judgments; we transgressed Your Law and sinned.” Christ confirmed the fathers’ promises; the Covenant named them still: Israel and Judah joined as one beneath their rightful King. He did not make the nations Israel or erase the tribal name; From Moses to New Jerusalem, the people stay the same. [Final Chorus] “I have separated you from other people, That you should be Mine.” A peculiar treasure, a kingdom of priests, A holy nation by design. “Come out from among them and be separate; Do not touch the unclean.” The God Who chose Jacob has never changed; Be holy, distinct, and clean. [Outro] The same God Who chastens is the God Who can restore; The same hand that scattered gathers Israel once more. The way back is repentance—turn from every wicked path; Return to Law and covenant, to holiness at last: A kingdom under God, A holy nation, A people set apart.
