Misconception Of Tithes

Tithes have been used in the organized church to gain finance for the church's operation. Finances are needed, but the term Tithing is misused. Jesus said  (2Cor 9:7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. God will not bless us on our terms. He blesses us according to His Word as found in the scriptures. Tithing in the Old Testament was not 10%. The Old Testament Law is not used by Christ in the New Testament. As Christ said, we are no longer under the Law, but of Grace. Tithing was not just one set of giving. The total tithe in the Old Testament would equal 27 to 30%.
