Henry Thomas Smart (1813-1879) was an English organist and composer. He was known for his hymn tunes, such as "Regent Square," and his contributions to church music. Smart was born in London and was the nephew of the conductor Sir George Smart. He initially studied law but soon switched to music, becoming proficient in organ playing and composition.

"The Wood Nymphs" is a charming composition by Henry Thomas Smart (1813-1879), an English composer and organist. Written in 1879 as a secular part-song, the lyrics, penned by Bryan Procter, evoke the mystical and serene atmosphere of a forest inhabited by wood nymphs.

The song invites the nymphs to come and dwell in the forest, offering solace and joy away from worldly pains. It's a delightful piece that captures the essence of Romantic-era music with its expressive melodies and evocative style.
