CHURCH OF THE SACRED FAMILY 20230803232438RT1
The Sagrada Família is a sample of Gaudí's artistic fullness: he worked there for most of his professional career; but, especially, in the last years, when he reached the culmination of his naturalistic style, with a synthesis of all the solutions and styles tried until then. Gaudí achieved perfect harmony in the interrelationship between structural and ornamental elements, so that all the arts were integrated into a structured and logical whole.
From 1915, Gaudí dedicated himself almost exclusively to the Sagrada Família, a work that represents the synthesis of his entire architectural evolution, since he applied all his findings previously experienced in the crypt of the Colonia Güell . After the completion of the crypt and the apse, still in neo-Gothic style, Gaudí conceived the rest of the temple in an organic style, with imitation of the forms of nature, where regular geometric shapes abound. The interior looks like a forest, with a set of inclined arborescent columns, in a helical shape, which creates a structure that is both simple and resistant. During the lifetime of Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) only the crypt, the apse and, partially, the Nativity facade were completed, of which only the tower of Sant Bernabé was completed.
