I was walking with my head down, pockets full of fear,  

Trying not to let the world see I was disappearing year by year.  

Every promise that I made myself kept breaking in my hands,  

And I was running out of reasons just to try and stand.

But in the quiet, in the shadows I called home,  

I heard a whisper saying, “Child, you’re not alone.”

That was The day You found me, God,  

Right where the night surrounded me.  

You pulled the shame right off my shoulders,  

Lifted my heart like a boulder.  

I didn’t know I could be free  

Till mercy came and rescued me.
