I was walking with my head down, pockets full of fear,

Trying not to let the world see I was disappearing year by year.

Every promise that I made myself kept breaking in my hands,

And I was running out of reasons just to try and stand.

But in the quiet, in the shadows I called home,

I heard a whisper saying, “Child, you’re not alone.”

That was The day You found me, God,

Right where the night surrounded me.

You pulled the shame right off my shoulders,

Lifted my heart like a boulder.

I didn’t know I could be free

Till mercy came and rescued me.

Everything changed, everything changed

The day You found me, God.

I had stories I was hiding, ones I never meant to tell,

Thought if anyone got close enough, they’d see the parts I hate myself.

But You stepped into the wreckage like You’d always planned to stay,

And every broken piece I carried, You turned into grace.

Now when the darkness tries to pull me back again,

I hear Your voice reminding me where I’ve been.

That was The day You found me, God,

Right where the night surrounded me.

You pulled the shame right off my shoulders,

Lifted my heart like a boulder.

I didn’t know I could be free

Till mercy came and rescued me.

Everything changed, everything changed

The day You found me, God.

Now I’m standing in the open,

Hands up, unbroken.

Every scar is just a story

Of the way You wrote in glory.

I’m not who I was, I’m not who I was —

I’m Yours.

That was The day You found me, God,

Right where the night surrounded me.

You pulled the shame right off my shoulders,

Lifted my heart like a boulder.

I didn’t know I could be free

Till mercy came and rescued me.
