You’ve prayed “Lord, make me whole again.” Here is what comes next.

Maybe you’ve prayed “create in me a clean heart” more times than you can count, and the shame keeps coming back. Maybe you’ve heard “the marriage bed is undefiled” and still aren’t sure whether that means anything goes, or nothing does.

Undefiled doesn’t mean anything goes. It doesn’t mean nothing goes.

When no one will talk about it plainly

Some of us were taught that closeness is shameful, even inside marriage. Some have watched something on a screen come between them. Some said yes just to keep the peace, and felt it afterward. And when we asked our questions, we were handed vague sayings, or someone else’s list.

Shame that is never answered keeps a person hiding: from God, and from the one they married.

A clean heart, clear boundaries, and the joy God intended

Undefiled is a 12-chapter book for Christian husbands and wives, built on Hebrews 13:4. It shows what Scripture actually says about the marriage bed, gives you four clear boundaries and four simple questions to bring to anything, and speaks honestly about pornography, pressure, withholding and shame.

It gives no list of acts and uses no graphic words. And it speaks just as clearly about joy, because the Bible is not shy about joy.

Inside, you’ll discover

  • The Four Boundaries at a Glance: the plain, one-page answer to “Where is the list?”, before Chapter I even begins
  • Why Hebrews 13:4, read in full, means neither “anything goes” nor “nothing goes” (Chapter I)
  • Conviction or shame? How to tell the two voices apart, and what to do when you’ve confessed but don’t feel clean (Chapter II)
  • Five purposes God gives for married intimacy, and a plain answer to “Is it only for having children?” (Chapter III)
  • The Four Questions you can bring to anything, together, plus a fair look at family planning, where sincere Christians differ (Chapter IV)
  • Performance or presence? Keeping the world’s script out of your bedroom (Chapter V)
  • “It’s only pornography. It isn’t cheating.” What Jesus actually said, and why this is not only a men’s struggle (Chapter VI)
  • Pornography recovery in three parts: for the one who struggled, for the one who was betrayed, and for both of you together (Chapter VII)
  • Never a weapon: withholding, demanding, and closeness used as currency (Chapter VIII)
  • What a true “yes” looks like, why pressure is never holy, and the “Yes, No and Not Yet” conversation (Chapter IX)
  • When both of you have fallen: the path of repentance, and why forgiveness is not the same as instant trust (Chapter X)
  • Hard questions, from the kings with many wives to the state marriage license, and joy in every season of the body (Chapters XI and XII)

A note from the author

More than a thousand of you typed the same prayer in the comments: Lord, make me whole again. I noticed the word you kept choosing: again. You weren’t asking to become someone new. You were asking for something to be given back.

This book is our answer. It gives no list of acts and uses no graphic words. It shows what Scripture says, offers four simple questions, and points you to the God who forgives. I can’t promise every page will be easy. I can promise a clear biblical path, honest tools and hope you can hold.

Questions you might have

Is it explicit?

No. There is no list of acts and not one graphic word. It is written in plain, reverent language you could read in church.

Does it tell us exactly what is forbidden?

It shows the lines Scripture clearly draws, on one page at the front. For everything else, it gives you the Four Questions to answer together, before God, instead of handing you someone else’s list.

Is pornography only a husband’s problem in this book?

No. The book is written for husbands and wives. Chapter VII has a part for the one who struggled, a part for the one who was betrayed, and a part for walking in the light together.

Can we read it together? Can I read it alone?

Both. Many readers start alone, and most of the prayers, reflections and worksheets work for one person. If your spouse is willing, read a chapter a week and use the “Talk Together” questions. Either of you may say “I need to stop here” at any time.

I’m single or widowed. Is it for me?

The book is written mainly for married couples, but Chapter XI speaks directly to single, widowed and engaged readers. A clean heart belongs to every season of life.

Is it a physical book? Can I print it?

It’s a PDF you download instantly. You also get a printer-friendly edition, so you can print the worksheets and cards at home.

What if our situation is serious?

If there is fear, force or pressure in your home, please put this book aside and call the National Domestic Violence Hotline (US) at 1-800-799-7233, text START to 88788, or visit thehotline.org; call or text 988 if you are in crisis, and 911 in an emergency (outside the US: findahelpline.com). If you carry sexual trauma, a trained counselor is wise stewardship, not a lack of faith. For a long struggle with pornography, the book points you to Christian recovery groups and counselors. This book is educational and devotional. It is not therapy.
