Rob's Helix Floorboard - Famous Guitarists

Hi there and welcome!

There are 11 patches in this zip file. Almost all of them have between four and eight snapshots, often with clean, lead and experimental variations of the basic patch(snapshot A). I have also added some patches of a specific guitarist(like Pete Townshend) with snapshots for different songs),

The patches do not use Impulse Responses and require the Helix Floorboard to be at software version 3.8 because they use the latest amps and cabinets.

The names of the patches typically speak for themselves. They have all been created from scratch by me.

I have done my best to create a collection that contains lots of different sounds so you can experiment further yourself.

The patches have been created using several guitars :

• Squier Telecaster with Seymour Duncan Little '59 Tele pickups
• Harley Benton HB35Plus Hollow Body ES335 style guitar (main instrument)
• Ibanez AZES40 Strat type guitar

Please be aware that the Helix is not a magical box! I have done a lot of research to find out which amps and pedals were originally used by the artist and I have tried to find that specific amp/effect in the Helix. If it was not there I made close approximations of the gear taking into account what gear was available at the time. So if a guitarist used a Fender amp that is not in the Helix I picked a comparable amp of typically the same brand/period.

If you have a very different guitar - like a Strat type guitar - I advise you to invest 25 euros/dollars in a simple EQ pedal. I have one that perfectly corrects the sounds for my Strat. No building patches for the various guitars; just build a patch for one guitar and use them with another one using the correction EQ. I have a youtube channel that is going to feature more of these hints and tips very soon.
