Worked from the cuff down, these socks use directional decreases and yarnovers to create a swirling lace pattern that is intuitive and easily memorized. They feature a twisted rib cuff, an Eye of Partridge heel flap and gusset, and a wide toe.

To knit these socks, you need to know how to:
- work flat and in the round,
- twist stitches (knitting through the back leg),
- do directional decreases (k2tog and ssk),
- do yarnovers,
- pick up stitches along an edge, and
- use Kitchener stitch to graft live stitches.

Note: This pattern is not written with a particular needle type in mind and thus does not specify a needle number or where to place certain stitches at any point in the pattern. For the leg, you will need to be aware of the beginning of the round. For the foot, you will need to know which stitches constitute the instep and which stitches constitute the heel flap, gusset, and sole.

The lace pattern for these socks is both written and charted for both sizes.
