Swing 42: A Practical Guitar Workbook
Use Swing 42 to develop practical guitar skills you can carry into other music.
This guided workbook introduces jazz harmony, seventh chords, swing feel and improvising through an approachable arrangement of Django Reinhardt’s Swing 42. It is designed for guitarists who already know some basic chords and want to broaden their playing without needing previous jazz experience.
Inside you will find:
• A clear explanation of the AABA form and the 1–6–2–5 progression
• Chord boxes and the complete chord progression
• My written solo in standard notation and TAB
• A four-part, self-paced practice plan
• Clickable links to a chord-and-melody play-along, solo demonstration, duo performance and Django Reinhardt’s recording
• Guidance for switching between accompaniment, melody and soloing
The melody notation is not included. The video play-along demonstrates the melody so you can learn it by ear, slow the video when needed and play the opposite part alongside me.
