When Birdie Palmer, a disturbed woman with a heart that desires more than what small-town life can offer, has a chance encounter with Mathias Blakely, a callous traveling carney with a haunting past, the two polar opposites attract. As everyone sorts through their pain and frustrations, some will find it difficult to walk the line between justice and retribution. In contrast, others will find the choice between preservation and murder a simple one.
