About

The Finding Meaning and Purpose After Graduation intervention is structured into six asynchronous modules, each designed to support recent graduates in reconnecting with their sense of identity, direction, and purpose. Module 1, “Why Purpose Matters,” introduces the foundational idea that cultivating purpose enhances psychological well-being, particularly during life transitions. Through reflection prompts and a life satisfaction check-in, participants begin considering what a meaningful life looks like for them. Module 2, “The Science of Purpose,” offers a deeper dive into the empirical evidence behind meaning-making, drawing from positive psychology and existential theory. Participants complete the Best Possible Self exercise to envision a future guided by purpose. Module 3, “Reflecting on Your Story,” invites participants to explore defining life moments through a timeline activity, story journaling, and a signature strengths reflection, helping them connect the dots between their past experiences and emerging identity. Module 4, “Discovering What Gives You Energy,” blends the VIA Strengths Survey with an energy tracking exercise to help participants identify what energizes, drains, or grounds them. These insights inform how their strengths and environments influence well-being. Module 5, “Values and Vocational Clarity,” guides participants through a values card sort and decision-mapping process, helping them clarify what matters most and how it relates to career uncertainty or next steps. Finally, Module 6, “Small Steps to a Purposeful Life,” supports participants in bridging insight with action. They complete a “One Small Step” practice and a WOOP Goal Planner to build habits of values-aligned behavior. Each module includes brief videos, downloadable worksheets, and journal prompts — all accessible asynchronously so that participants can move at their own pace while staying grounded in their evolving sense of purpose.
