Recipes for Wintering- Creating a Relaxing and Magical Sanctuary
Winter asks things of us that other seasons don’t. It asks us to soften, to slow, to tuck ourselves into rhythms that nourish rather than deplete. It asks for early nights and warm drinks, quiet mornings and long exhalations. It calls us back to the simple comforts we forget to give ourselves: soups simmering on the stove, soft blankets, steaming mugs, long cuddles, deep rest.
This little book is an invitation to do exactly that.
Inside, you’ll find some of my favorite ways to make the next three winter months gentler, warmer, and altogether more delightful. Things like bundling up for a walk in the thin winter sunshine, slipping your tired feet into an herbal bath, making snow angels just because it feels good, or stretching your body awake after a long night’s sleep. You’ll find ideas for playful days outside, restful days inside, forest bathing, milk baths, simple meditations, cozy meals, and the kind of restored energy that comes from giving yourself permission to slow down.
These practices aren’t complicated. They’re small, sensory invitations back into your own body, your own joy, your own peace.
My hope is that these pages help you move through winter not with dread, but with curiosity…and maybe even delight. That you taste more, rest more, breathe more, and return to the childlike wonder the season still offers, if only we’re willing to say yes to it.
