Reunidos una noche con mis hermanos y aprovechando la luz de un candil, le pedimos a mi abuela que nos contara aquellos cuentos de miedo que antes, cuando éramos niños, nos había contado y asustado tanto, de nuevo ella comenzó con esos relatos donde los protagonistas principales eran sus abuelos, es decir nuestros tatarabuelos, en tiempos en que no era raro encontrarse con espantos, algunos muy conocidos por la imaginación popular.

Aunque no soy un cuenta cuentos natural, como lo era mi abuela, aprendí un poco de ella y me atreví a escribir, ilustrar y editar de mejor manera sus cuentos, además de escribir los míos propios y también incluí algunas leyendas populares. Al final he incluido, también, un glosario y significados de algunos lugares de Nicaragua que aún conservan sus nombres precolombinos.

Gathered one night with my siblings and taking advantage of the light of a candle, we asked my grandmother to tell us those scary stories that before, when we were children, she had told us and scared us so much, again she began with those stories where the main protagonists were her grandparents, that is to say our great-great-grandparents, in times when it was not uncommon to meet with scares, some very well known by the popular imagination.

Although I am not a natural storyteller, as my grandmother was, I learned a little from her and I dared to write, illustrate and edit her stories in a better way, besides writing my own, and I also included some popular legends. At the end I have also included a glossary and meanings of some places in Nicaragua that still keep their pre-Columbian names.
