Fat Loss Guide
What Helped Me Lose the Fat
These are the things I personally used throughout my fat loss journey. Nothing crazy or complicated — just habits I stayed consistent with over time.
- Daily steps — I made walking a huge part of my routine. Getting my steps in every day helped me stay active and burn more calories without feeling like I was constantly doing cardio.
- Incline treadmill — When I wanted to add some extra cardio, incline walking was my go-to. You don’t need to kill yourself running every day. Find a pace and incline you can actually stick to.
- High-volume foods — Lettuce, vegetables, fruit, potatoes, egg whites, lean meats, Greek yogurt, etc. I tried to make my meals BIG without making the calories crazy. Being able to actually feel full made dieting way easier.
- Ninja Creami — This was honestly one of my biggest hacks. I have a huge sweet tooth, so being able to make a massive protein ice cream for way fewer calories helped me stay on track without feeling like I couldn’t have dessert.
- Diet/zero-calorie drinks — Diet soda and other zero-cal drinks helped me when I wanted something sweet without adding a bunch of extra calories. You don’t have to drink them, but they definitely helped me.
- Protein with every meal — I tried to build my meals around a good protein source. It helped keep me full and made it easier to hit my protein goal while losing weight.
- Find foods you actually enjoy — Your diet doesn’t have to be chicken and rice every single day. I found lower-calorie versions of foods I already liked and figured out ways to make them fit.
- Don’t try to be perfect — You’re going to have days where you eat more than planned, miss your steps, or don’t have the best workout. One bad day doesn’t ruin your progress. Get back to your normal routine and keep going.
- BE PATIENT — This is probably the biggest one. You aren’t going to wake up shredded after two weeks. Your weight is going to fluctuate and there will be times where it feels like nothing is happening. Give it time and stay consistent.
I did all of this while going through college and working a job at the same time. I didn’t have unlimited time to meal prep, train, or revolve my entire life around fitness.
If I could make it work while balancing school, work, relationships, and everything else going on in life, you can find a way to make it work too.
You don’t need to completely change your life overnight. Start with a few things you can actually stick to, stay consistent, and give yourself enough time to see the results.
