Shadows of the Trusted is a short memoir by Sean E.F. Burns.

It is the story of the people who were supposed to protect him, the years of silence and family betrayal, and the faith that showed up late. He is 59. He has been sober for 10 years. He did not have to wait this long to believe he was worth saving, and neither do you.

This is a recovery story, not a sermon. It includes childhood abuse and suicidal thoughts.
