Sleep

Sleep is vital, without it we cannot exist, and yet for each of us it is different - a joy, a challenge or a frustration. This issue followed a worldwide study on sleep, instigated by IASWECE (www.iaswece.org). This issue is rich, filled with articles looking at sleep from so many directions - mostly to do with the importance of sleep for children, and how parents and teachers can aid this.

Included are ideas for setting up sleep rooms in our settings, addressing sleep difficulties, aiding bedtimes, and sleep routines. There are many ideas for beds for naptime and making camping dollies and sandmen to snuggle. There are sleepy songs and lullabies and little stories for bedtime.

It also includes two articles by Sarah Rees on opening the door to neuroscience, and the work of the wandering mind.
