A Gentle Year was created for families who want a rich and beautiful homeschool without filling every hour of the day or planning every lovely detail themselves.

Rather than a week by week schedule to keep up with, this 69 page digital companion invites you to begin in whatever season you are living in and slowly make your way through the year.

There is no master schedule and no need to begin in January. Start with the season outside your window. Some families may spend a few weeks on a section, others may linger much longer.

Young children can listen, play and make alongside you. Older children can look more deeply, make connections and continue with their own individual maths and reading alongside your family studies.

You also don’t need to know anything about art or classical music before you begin. You are allowed to have favourites, skip things that don’t capture your family, choose another piece by the same composer and let your year become your own.

The learning is already inside the experience.

This is the First Edition of A Gentle Year, which I am currently living through alongside my own three children.

I’ve spent more than nine years homeschooling my children, and one thing I’ve learned is that a resource can look wonderful on paper, but living it with real children teaches you things that planning alone cannot.
