Sarah lived to be 127 years old, the only woman in the Bible whose exact age at death is recorded. When she

died, Abraham wept. Even though God had promised him the entire land of Canaan, he didn't own a single

inch of it yet! Instead of accepting a free tomb from the Hittites, Abraham insisted on officially buying the

Cave of Machpelah for 400 shekels of silver. This was his first permanent, legal piece of the Promised Land-a

physical anchor of faith proving that his family was never going back to Ur, but would stay in Canaan forever.
