This self-study guide is designed for current healthcare professionals, with
experience in the phlebotomy field, and who desire certification, without
in-house courses, and would like to challenge the national exam or the U.S.
accredited APT Phlebotomy Exam. If you have at least 1-5yrs current hands-on
experience in venipuncture, or if you do not have any hands-on training or
knowledge of the venipuncture process this guide will help you be over-prepared
for class and ready for the exam in no time! If you are scheduled to graduate
from an accredited high school or GED program, you may receive a provisional
certification as long as you meet the following requirements:
You must take and pass your exam no more than 12 months before you graduate.
When applying for full certification after graduation, you must provide proof of
graduation (high school diploma or GED). Please note: Provisionally certified
candidates will have a “P” associated with their certification number.
Certification is a great way to prove you’ve mastered the basics of phlebotomy
and that you have the skill and knowledge you need to perform your job safely,
efficiently, and accurately. Many employers do require or strongly prefer
certification, however, every state has different requirements for its
phlebotomists. APT Phlebotomy provides students with the skills and knowledge
necessary to work in a clinical laboratory, hospital, clinic, or physician's office
setting. APT Phlebotomy offers CPT education, so you can jump right testing
and into this growing, lucrative career in no time.
