Susie Wants a Boyfriend is a Level 2 (L2) title in the Start Reading Thai series. It is intended for learners who already know the basics of Thai script — including consonants, vowels and tone markers — and are ready to build confidence reading longer sentences and more varied natural Thai. The story is presented entirely in Thai script, without transliteration, so you can practise recognising words and patterns directly on the page.

The story follows Susie, a 36-year-old Australian living happily in Chiang Mai. Although she enjoys her life, her friends and everything the city has to offer, she begins to wonder whether it might be time to find a partner. She downloads a dating app and heads out on a few dates — but things don't quite go to plan. Then an unexpected change in her friendship with Sue leads Susie to rethink what she really needs to be happy.
