These mitts (with the pairing hat) were inspired by a piece on a school wall near my new house (yay!). It represents a lot of arrows pointing to the center from different starting points, using an explosion of different colors.
The marlisle technique used for the piece gives an interesting result, so similar to some raw drawing on the walls, when the paint is already fading, but the shapes are still visible.

Each mitt is worked in the round, starting from the border in striped garter stitch. The palm is worked using the marlisle technique, featuring a pointed up arrow on one hand and a pointed down arrow on the other hand. A thumb gusset is added for comfort, worked in stockinette using both colors together. Each mitt is then finished with striped garter stitch.
