31 Day Devo - Beyond the Scoreboard
HOW TO USE THIS DEVOTIONAL
Beyond the Scoreboard is designed to help parents, guardians, and young athletes grow together in faith through the lessons of basketball and everyday life.
Each day includes a short reading that can be completed in 5–10 minutes. The goal is not to rush through the devotional, but to create small, meaningful moments of connection between adults and children.
Each daily reading includes:
A Bible Verse: A short passage of Scripture to focus your thoughts.
Big Idea: Two simple sentences that explain the main lesson for the day.
Think on This: A short reflection that connects faith, basketball, and real life.
3 Ways to Apply This Today: Simple, practical actions that parents and children can try together.
Prayer: A short prayer you can read together or use as a starting point.
Reflection Lines: A space for the child or family to write what they believe God may be speaking to them.
How Families Can Use This Devotional
• Read one day together before practice, after a game, or at bedtime.
• Let the child read part of the devotional if they are able.
• Ask simple questions like:
• “What stood out to you today?”
• “How could we practice this at the next game?”
• Keep the conversation relaxed and encouraging.
You can also revisit certain days during the season when a lesson is especially helpful.
Basketball seasons come and go, but the lessons learned beyond the scoreboard can last a lifetime.
