Experimentation with color takes the spotlight in this easy-to-knit shawl. Knit on the bias, the eyelet stripes burst with attention-grabbing color and texture.

Color Dreams has a narrower, multicolored version and a deeper, 2-color version. Both shawls are knit from one tip to the opposite edge. Increases along the top edge are balanced with decreases along the bottom to create an asymmetrical triangle. Two sections of eyelet stripes in contrasting colors are interspersed with areas of stockinette.

This shawl wants to be versatile! Knitters can use a minimum of two contrasting colors (and alternate each stripe) or employ a different color for each stripe.

A note on yarn amounts:
The deeper version used two 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn (340 yds / 311 m of Color A and 400 yds / 366 m of Color B). The narrower version used about 75 grams of fingering weight yarn in the main color (approximately 280 yards / 256 meters) with an additional 70 grams (260 yds / 238 m) of contrasting colors.

A note on customization:
This pattern is easy to make larger or smaller by adding or subtracting eyelet stripes or rows of stockinette. Knitters might also choose to knit this shawl in a lighter or heavier weight yarn.

Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different yarn weight or needle size will affect the size of the finished shawl and the amount of yarn needed.
