Deuteronomy in the Book of Mormon || PDF
Why were the Jews so poorly prepared for the return of the Savior while the Nephites had a strong base of believers who were much more prepared to both receive him and his teachings? Undoubtedly, there were a number of factors involved in the answer to this question.
However, one factor is Deuteronomy's influence on Nephite life -- and this factor is both understudied far more significant and influential than you might expect.
Written for a FARMS Symposium in 2000, A Kinder, Gentler Law and Deuteronomic Reforms to the Sinaitic Covenant explore Deuteronomy's influence in the Book of Mormon. The other two PDFs are supplemental works (not prepared or shared as a publication); these are bonus products that are both imperfect for publication and fascinating from a religio-legal perspective.
