Isolation (Solo Violin)

Isolation was written during the early stages of lockdown 2020 and was a natural and honest response to life at the moment - full of repetition, uncertainty, moments of darkness, and yet with (I hope) a continuous sense of optimism.

The piece was written for violinist Fenella Humphreys and premiered at one of her 'Homemade Concerts', a series of weekly musical events broadcast live on YouTube at a time when public concerts weren't permissible.

Isolation was recorded by Fenella and appears on the NMC album 'In These Exceptional Times', released in autumn 2024.
