Winter Art Activity Winter Finish the Picture Creativity Challenge Bell Ringers
This Winter Finish the Picture resource is a low prep winter art activity for classroom teachers, art teachers, substitute teachers and homeschool families. It brings seasonal drawing into your classroom while encouraging imagination, originality and problem solving.
Students get partially started winter themed drawings and complete them with their own ideas and artistic choices. They continue the image, fill the page, and then color or shade the finished artwork. Because the pages are open-ended, students can take the same starting point in completely different directions. The pages feature winter imagery such as snowflakes, snowy scenes, winter characters and seasonal outdoor details.

HOW TO USE IT
For a quick activity, students can complete one page in a single class. For a fuller winter art lesson, students can use a variety of art mediums such as crayons, colored pencils, markers, watercolor, oil pastels or mixed media, add extra details and backgrounds, and complete multiple pages over time. The pages also work as a fast finisher activity, bell ringer, sub plan, creative drawing warm-up, brain break, morning work or art center task.
Because students finish each picture themselves, they practice imagination, creative thinking, visual problem solving and artistic decision making as they turn a partial image into a complete composition. The starting image gives them enough structure to begin, with plenty of room left for their own ideas.
