Missing patients. A flooded pumping station. A creature rising from the rising marsh waters.

Following the events of The Unreturned, the heroes reach Riverton, where the Heap stands between them and the answers they seek. As violence erupts around the pumping station, they must determine who threatens the patients and who protects them.
