Ephemeris is an asymmetric-shaped triangle, worked sideways. It consists of simple garter stitch coupled with a mosaic pattern and a simple slipped stitch repeat. Only one colour is worked per row for both the mosaic and slipped stitch patterns. The yarn not-in-use is carried up the side of the shawl throughout the pattern. Slip all stitches purlwise unless otherwise noted. The shawl can be easily enlarged or shortened by adding or subtracting rows of garter in the last section before binding off.

Ephemeris is an addictive and fun knit!  And it's great for using up two skeins of contrasting fingering weight that may be languishing in your stash.  If you have two favorite skeins that you've been saving, this is a great design for them as both yarns get equal billing in the pattern.

The pattern instructions are both charted and written.
