Come Holy Spirit

Written in 2001

This song was written during a deeply difficult spiritual season in my life. I had no church home and felt spiritually isolated, wandering through a time of confusion and frustration. After years of being involved in ministry and experiencing the powerful work of God, I suddenly found myself feeling alone and unsure of where I belonged.

Yet even in that wilderness, the hunger for God never left me.

“Come Holy Spirit” became a prayer more than a song, a cry from my heart asking the Lord to touch me again, to fill me again, and to use my life for His purposes once more. It was written in a place of longing, when the only thing I knew to do was call out to God and wait on Him.

Many believers go through seasons where God feels distant and the path forward seems unclear. This song was born in that space, a reminder that even when we feel alone, the Holy Spirit is still near, still listening, and still faithful to meet us.
