Installment 22 of Finding the Names, Volume One — 418 more entries transcribed name by name from the original New Orleans ship manifests at the National Archives (Microfilm M1895, Roll 3, images 481–600). 166 pages, large print. FREE — please share it so families can find their people.

The master of the James Monroe swore no change had taken place — but the inspector's certificate on the same sheet says he "finde Meady and John a Missing," and two people who were on no list had been put aboard in their places. These pages also hold Maria, 12, classed "White" among dozens dittoed "Black"; Martin Bass, 26, who was not found aboard the Ohio; the Norfolk manifest of "One Hundred Persons," of which the filming itself lost the first eight; Peggy, 22, whose child the paperwork never counted; and two men named January, in the same weeks of 1824.

Counting this installment, the Finding the Names project has recovered 12,000 entries from the New Orleans manifests, every one free. The companion guide and the Complete Set (Installments 1–22 in one download) are also free in this store.
