Self Employment Power Hour – When Do You Need to Register with HMRC?

Thinking about starting a side hustle or already making money from one but not sure what you need to tell HMRC?

This one-hour Self Employment Power Hour is designed to take you through the basics of being self-employed alongside your other income, so you know what you need to do and what records you should be keeping.

You don’t need to be an experienced business owner — this session is aimed at anyone who is starting out or simply wants to make sure they’re doing things correctly.

During this one-hour session, I'll cover:

✔ When you need to register as self-employed with HMRC

✔ The £1,000 trading allowance and how it works

✔ What happens if you have a side hustle alongside a PAYE job

✔ What records you should keep for your income and expenses

✔ Examples of the types of expenses you may be able to claim

✔ How to keep your bookkeeping simple and organised

✔ What information you’ll need when it comes to completing your tax return

✔ Time at the end to answer your questions

Joining the meeting

The session will be held on Microsoft Teams.

I’ll email everyone the Teams joining link earlier on the day of the session.

Recording

Please note that this session will be recorded using an AI note-taking assistant.

A recording will be shared with everyone who books, so you’ll be able to watch it again afterwards if you want to revisit anything covered during the session.

Take an hour out to get your side hustle finances straight!

Whether you’re just getting started, approaching the point where you need to register, or simply want to make sure you’re keeping the right records, this session will help you understand what you need to do and give you the confidence to keep things organised.

There are no refunds if you cannot attend, but at my discretion I may offer a free ticket to a future session if given notice of your inability to attend.

You will get a PDF (4MB) file
