Millimodel LYS1 Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway goods train
Millimodel LYS1 set Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway goods train. 1/200 scale.
This is a 2005 designed card kit with later updates to cut out and assemble which builds to a complete goods train measuring approximately 8” long with included track base. Comprising Aspinall 0-6-0 tender locomotive, loco coal wagon, low sided wagon, 10 ton goods van with both sides roll back roof, 6-wheel brake van and track base. This model represents a typical small goods train circa 1911.
One of this class of locomotives is preserved, usually at the East Lancashire Railway although it does get hired out to other heritage sites. It is currently in BR livery.
The model follows the style of the 1940s and 1950s Micromodels railway kits, which comprised six postcards contained in a paper wrapper.
The paper wrapper (page 1) has the instructions which you only need to print out if you wish to present the kit in the unbuilt form.
These model kits are intended for experienced modellers and are detailed and small in size. Good eyesight or magnification is required and steady hands!
Millimodels are intended to fill some of the gaps in the Micromodels railways range, with railways that were not represented by them and also some of the smaller subjects. In addition, it has been decided to make some sets, at least, as whole trains rather than sets of locomotives.
I sell the physical card kits via eBay if you do not wish to print them out yourself.
My website www.millimodels.com has more details about my models and also construction hints.
