Georgiana Cavendish was the most fashionable woman in late eighteenth century England and one of the most fascinating characters of the age. She became one of the most prominent campaigners for the Whigs when women were meant to have no role in politics, the confidante of the Prince Regent and a patron of the arts and sciences (and gambling houses!). She also had a notoriously dull husband and an unhappy marriage which led to some very untraditional living arrangements and a romance that threatened to ruin her. Throw in a spot of Charles James Fox, William Pitt the Younger and the French Revolution and you have an unmissable special episode! (Originally released 27/04/2018)
