Backflip Hat
Listing is for the pattern (knitting instructions) only.
In ice skating, the Backflip is a breath-taking figure that only the most skilled skaters can perform.
Because of its extreme difficulty it is a dangerous move with a high risk of injury - that‘s why the Backflip is not allowed to be shown in competitions.
It is, however, still performed in freestyle skating, and my heart just skips a beat when I see dancers perform like this.
This hat (and also the matching Backflip mitts) is my take on this move; my translation into knitting.
