Above the Certification: Applied Anatomy for Personal Trainers
This course builds the anatomical literacy that entry-level certification leaves behind. Participants study the major muscles, their attachments and actions, and the biomechanical principles that govern human movement — contraction types, lever systems, length-tension relationships, and the moment-arm concept that explains why an exercise feels hard where it does.
Content progresses region by region through the trunk and spine, shoulder complex, arm and grip, hip and pelvis, and knee, ankle, and foot. Each muscle is paired with its practical training relevance, and the course closes with a movement-screening framework, guidance on cueing from anatomical reasoning, and clear scope-of-practice boundaries for recognizing when a client should be referred to a licensed healthcare provider.
Designed for certified personal trainers and strength coaches seeking deeper anatomical understanding to improve exercise selection, cueing, and client safety.
