I See Colours: Red - Free Sensory Play Guide
Red confetti hides pom poms, toy cars, crayons, and a handful of other red things - waiting to be found, pulled out, and named. It's less about quiet exploration and more about the thrill of discovery: searching with their hands, showing you what they've found, and (if they're anything like the children we teach) throwing a handful of confetti in the air along the way.
This is Week 1 of I See Colours - a full Nest Weekly session, yours free.
Everything inside is exactly what we use in our own sessions at The Learning Nest: the materials list (mostly things already in your toy box, kitchen drawer, or the nearest dollar store - nothing to specially order), full setup steps, a language script built specifically for EAL and bilingual learners, a "what to actually watch for" guide so you know what real progress looks like, and extension ideas for after the tray's put away.
This guide comes from a real classroom session, so if you're playing one-on-one at home, just take turns together through the circle-time part rather than passing between children - it works just as well.
What's inside:
- Materials list & setup steps (10 min prep, 5 min setup)
- Language script, including a dedicated section for EAL learners
- "What to actually watch for" - real developmental signs, not guesswork
- A full session-flow timeline, 0-60 minutes
- Circle time script, songs, and a linked playlist
- Printable "I Spy Red" cards and an apple tree template
Pop your email in and it's yours. If you love it, Nest Weekly sends a new themed session just like this every Monday.
