Darkness, desire, faith, decay and obsession move through the eight tracks of Equilibrio Nero, an Italian dark/gothic project built around shadowy atmospheres and a distinctly decadent vision.

The songs move between forbidden desire, religious imagery, broken identities, opium-soaked nights and the darker side of devotion. Baudelaire, Poe, fallen angels, forgotten vows and poisoned romances become fragments of the same nocturnal world — intimate, theatrical and deeply melancholic.

The sound draws from the obscure side of early Italian gothic and darkwave, where atmosphere mattered more than polish and beauty could exist alongside discomfort, sensuality and decay. Italian lyrics dominate the album, occasionally opening into French and Latin phrases that deepen its ritualistic character.

Equilibrio Nero is not an album about darkness as an aesthetic.

It is about what darkness allows us to reveal.
