The Zodiac Prediction
You knew their sign before they said it. Then you knew their name.
What they see
Four wide-mouthed glasses on your table, each with a different colored silk draped out of it.
Somebody who has never spoken to you all night tells you their star sign. You read out the traits of that sign and ask whether that sounds like them. It usually does.
Then you tell them you made a prediction before any of it was said out loud, and that it is sitting in one of those four glasses, carrying two pieces of information.
They choose a color. Freely. You pull the silks from the other three and every one is empty. You lift the last silk and a token drops into the glass.
You pour it into their hand and ask them to read it out. It is their sign.
Then, for the first time all night, you ask their name.
And you ask them to turn the token over.
Where it came from
This is built on GROBY Prediction by Tom Craven, a good friend and a fine magician, published in his book My Almost 50 Years in Magic and sold at his lectures.
Tom's version came as a sheet of colored paper symbols you cut out and taped onto coins. Mine is what I wished I had been handed: wooden tokens, laser etched, made to last and made to hand to a stranger.

What you supply
Four wide-mouthed glasses. Whiskey or wine, it does not matter, as long as the mouth is wide.
I carry a set of nesting camping wine glasses I found on Amazon, and when I do not have them I ask the venue. Any bar or banquet room has four glasses.
I would rather tell you that up front than have you open the box and find out.

Everything goes out by USPS, usually within a day or two of your order.
