Character Collection 02: Cara Donati
Meet Cara Donati.
Cara is 36, Italian-American, lives in Somerville, Massachusetts, and works as an objects conservator at Boston's fictional Marlowe Museum of Art & History.
She also happens to be a gecko hybrid.
It's been approximately a year since Cara transformed, so the initial shock is well behind her. The scales, oversized gecko feet, unusual hands, altered face, and enormous muscular tail aren't temporary complications anymore. They're simply part of her life.
FormerlyHuman Character Collection 02 follows that life across 138 images and 37 videos, building a much broader portrait of Cara than a single transformation scene ever could.
You'll see detailed studio views that establish her complete hybrid anatomy from multiple angles, including her golden-brown patterned scales, distinctly reptilian facial features, specialized fingers and toes, and the huge tail that has become one of the most conspicuous parts of her silhouette.
But this isn't just a character reference gallery.
Cara has a career, an apartment, routines, errands, relationships, and a city to navigate.
At the Marlowe Museum of Art & History, her work as an objects conservator demands patience, precision, and delicate hands—qualities that take on a slightly different meaning after becoming a gecko. Away from the museum, the collection follows her through ordinary life and the little practical consequences of inhabiting a body that wasn't exactly designed around human furniture, clothing, architecture, or social expectations.
Some scenes focus on the advantages of Cara's new anatomy. Others focus on the inconveniences. And plenty simply show a woman who has had a year to get used to being something very different from what she used to be.
The result is a collection about life after transformation rather than transformation as an endpoint.
The accompanying 37 videos add movement to that world, showing how Cara walks, works, balances, handles objects, uses her unusual hands and feet, and manages a tail that doesn't exactly disappear when it would be convenient.
From clean character studies to work, home life, public spaces, physical activity, and everyday situations, the entire collection revolves around the same recurring character.
Cara changed a year ago. Life didn't stop. It just got a lot more reptilian.
