AP Human Geography Unit 2 Activities Bundle: Population & Migration
Give students more than one way to make sense of population and migration. Match vocabulary, interpret population pyramids, sort push and pull factors, work through migration decisions, or investigate a real migration case.
This collection gives you printable activity choices in a consistent format, with teacher directions, answer keys, response guides and a project rubric where appropriate. Pick what fits your lesson rather than printing the whole folder at once.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
12 separate activity PDFs plus a three-page start-here guide in one ZIP download. There are 138 pages total, including 98 student pages. That count includes 30 different bingo boards, card sheets, optional pages, teacher directions and keys; it does not mean 138 student worksheets or 98 different assignments.
ELEVEN RESOURCES
• Vocabulary Matching: 61 selected terms across six worksheets, with a complete key.
• Population Pyramids: Nigeria, Germany, Japan and the United States using 2023 estimates, with country tasks, comparison and response guides. Male bars are blue; female bars are pink.
• Push and Pull Factor Cards: 40 mixed cards, a recording sheet, reflection and separate key.
• Migration Decision Scenarios: 16 fictional cases, recording pages, reflection and case-by-case response guidance.
• Population and Migration Crossword: 26 entries, a clue sheet, optional word bank, solved grid and numbered answers.
• Population and Migration Bingo: 30 different boards and 38 terms, with caller definitions and directions.
• Global Population Summit Mixer: 16 roles, structured conversations, recording sheets, reflection and teacher guidance. Modern cases and practice figures are fictional; historical perspectives are paraphrased.
• Global Migration Project: nine topic choices with defined dates and routes, source starting points, research organizers, a vocabulary tracker and a 100-point rubric.
• Modern Human Migration WebQuest: eight dated cases, included case readings, linked sources, analysis and comparison. Google Earth is optional.
• NOVA: The People Paradox Guide: 16 revised questions and teacher responses for Hour 1 of World in the Balance (2004), with an official PBS transcript option.
• God Grew Tired of Us Guide: 30 revised prompts, teacher response criteria and a shorter official-source option for selected questions.
ONE INCLUDED CLASSROOM EXTRA
Natural Increase and Doubling Time: seven fictional calculation profiles, interpretation, an optional seven-country research task and a complete response guide. The original Doubling Time worksheet is available in the Social Studies Hub free resource library. This revised version is included for convenience; the underlying activity is not exclusive to the paid collection.
HOW YOU COULD USE IT
Choose matching or a crossword after vocabulary instruction, use factor cards or scenarios for a small-group discussion, or work through a population pyramid as a data-analysis task. The mixer, WebQuest and project offer longer applications. Individual teacher guides explain printing, materials, response expectations and suggested use. Times vary by task and class.
IMPORTANT MEDIA REQUIREMENTS
The full documentaries are not included, and this purchase does not include film access or licenses. NOVA is The People Paradox, the first hour of World in the Balance, not China Revs Up. Students can use the official PBS transcript instead of the film. God Grew Tired of Us needs a separately accessed authorized copy for the full guide; selected questions can use the official National Geographic written/excerpt pages identified in the teacher guide. Confirm access before assigning full-film work. Film-era statistics are historical, not current country profiles.
FORMAT AND MATERIALS
Printable PDFs in a ZIP file; U.S. Letter, 8.5 x 11 inches. Open with a standard PDF reader. Start with Actual Size / 100%; use Fit if your printer clips the edges. Most student pages are grayscale; population pyramids use blue and pink with labels. Card sets need scissors; growth calculations benefit from a calculator. The migration project and optional research extensions need accessible sources. Editable files and presentation templates are not supplied.
CHECK BEFORE BUYING
If you previously purchased the Social Studies Hub Unit 2 activities collection or full Unit 2 bundle on TPT, many underlying activities overlap. This is a revised edition, not an entirely new set.
This is an activities bundle. Slides, guided notes, a study guide and an exam are not included. Vocabulary is selected review, and the collection is not exhaustive coverage of every Unit 2 objective, a complete curriculum or a set of official AP exam questions.
USE AND SUPPORT
