About the author

María Ortega García (Burgos, España, 1980) is a language educator.

Since she got her first book, she has never stopped reading. What started as a need to record her thoughts and experiences to make sense of them evolved to become her main way of self-expression.

Spanish from birth, her preferred language of communication is English. She left her motherland when she was in her twenties. Half her life later, she is on the journey of coming back home to her roots and mother tongue.

Words lover, she has been blogging and writing poetry for years. Her first book, Weaving Words: The Alchemy of Language (2020), is a collection of essays about language learning and self-expression.
