CVC Words Worksheets Read Write Draw Phonics Practice Word Recognition Activity
This CVC Words Read, Write and Draw resource helps young learners build confidence with phonics, reading, word recognition, handwriting and directed drawing in one place. It is designed for PreK to 2nd grade learners who are working on simple CVC words, phonemic awareness, decoding, reading fluency and sentence reading.
For each featured word, students read a short CVC passage, highlight and point to the target word, trace and write it, find and circle it, underline it in a sentence, complete a directed drawing and work through coloring and drawing pages. Connecting each word to a drawing gives students a visual anchor, which helps visual learners, emerging readers and reluctant readers. The directed drawings are created by Kathleen McGiveron (Ms Artastic).

HOW TO USE IT
Use it for phonics and literacy centers, word family work, handwriting practice, reading groups, morning work, early finishers, sub plans, intervention groups and homeschool phonics lessons. Print individual word sets as you need them, group them by word family, or put the pages together into a booklet for ongoing practice through the year.
Because students read, trace, write and draw each word, they see it several times in different ways. That repetition supports decoding, fluency, word recognition, vocabulary and confidence, and the drawing adds fine motor practice, focus and creativity.
