Hadrian's Wall Photo & Selfie Spots Checklist
Don't Miss the Best Photo Spots on Hadrian's Wall 📸
On our own walk, photos weren't our top priority, staying focused on making it through the 84 miles was. It was still important to us to come home with the memories. Some stretches gave us so many directions to point the camera that we couldn't tell what was actually worth stopping for. Other times we walked right past a spot and only realized afterward we should have stopped for a photo or a selfie. On a point to point walk like this, there's no going back for the shot you missed.
Hadrian's Wall Path has plenty of great photo and selfie opportunities, but there isn't a sign telling you "stop here, this is the shot." When you're walking 84 miles, it's surprisingly easy to miss them.
We put this checklist together based on our experience walking and photographing Hadrian's Wall Path together in 2024: 26 spots along the route, each with a specific tip, so you come home knowing you didn't walk past the shot you wanted.
What You'll Get
- 26 sites along the route: From Roman forts to river crossings to trig points, listed in walking order.
- Boxes to tick off as you go: Keep track of what you've captured at each site.
- Each site marked for selfies, photos, or both: So you know what kind of shot the location works particularly well for.
- A specific tip for each spot: Where to stand, what angle to shoot from, or what to line up in the frame, not just general site information.
- Two pages, one for each direction: East to west and west to east, each formatted to fit on a single page. Print both sides for one double-sided sheet, or just the direction you need if you're only walking one way.
