This is a reworking of a very quick sampling of my old piano before I got rid of it for something decent many years ago. At the time there was very little on the market for a realistic hallway piano and I found I was often having to reconstruct or provide realistic digesic (in scene) piano playing for TV. Using available piano libraries then yielded completely unrealistic results and I had to record the old piano live, which was very inconvenient. So before it went I quickly sampled it using just a Sony stereo mic and a minidisc recorder. It was never intended to be a serious sampling exercise.

The only thing is, it sounded so good that I ended up using it all the time in certain contexts. Friends I gave it to used it all the time as well. It just sounds the right kind of wrong.

In this version 3.0, I have had the audio de-noised gently, and reprogrammed to make the velocity layers as smooth and as natural as possible, and also to balance the registers a bit better. The samples still do have a bit of noise in them, and that will be apparent when the voices ring on when stacked. For example, if you held down a large chord you will notice the noise after a few seconds. If you listen to the demos, you should get a picture of how much. It's pretty subtle and should be fine for most situations.

Speaking of the demos, Demo 2 "Lonely House", has pads from the Contemporary Violin library. Those pads rock pretty hard if I do say so myself. The final demo is from an album of Steampunk Music and is a good example of the piano used in context. It's really the only the first 30 seconds of the track where the piano is forward, so feel free to stop after that. The piano in that track is version 2.0.

The Piano is about 290 Mbs and was created in Kontakt 6.8 so it should be fine in anything above that. There are 3 velocity layers; Loud, Medium, Soft.
