Scene: Joy to the World (Beginner Creative Writing)

What happens when a character transforms into someone completely different? This beginner creative writing unit uses the "Joy to the World" regeneration scene from Doctor Who to inspire a solo short story. Students start with a personal "Writer in Me" introduction (skippable or expandable), then create a character, build toward a transformation, and write a narrative where a man of one race changes into a woman of another—and discovers what that change means. Includes character sheets, outlining guides, and a full teacher's guide with rubrics and pacing support. Perfect for beginner creative writing, workshops, or sub plans. No prep stress—just print and go.
