OPTIMIZING THE BENEFITS OF UNITED NATIONS PEACE OPERATIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA
This study examines the economic impacts on soldiers, the armed forces, and the nation as a whole of Ghana substantial contribution to UN peacekeeping. It also aims to comprehend the financial drivers behind a military approach focused on peacekeeping. The study shows that Burkina Faso gains financially from UN peacekeeping, as a country and at the individual soldier’s level. It also appears that money is a motivation for its contribution. However, the research revealed that a strong involvement in peacekeeping could negatively affect the national security structure and expose the country.
