Marketing Your Backlist
Many authors are so excited about their new releases, they forget to market the books they've already written. We forget that there are readers who haven't discovered our old books yet - even readers on our own mailing lists!
The majority of my income for both of my pen names - Golden Angel and Sinistre Ange - comes from my backlist. Golden Angel is almost entirely a wide pen name and Sinistre Ange is 100% Kindle Unlimited. This presentation covers my marketing tactics for both - everything from discounts to social media strategy to newsletters to paid options.
The only thing I don't talk about is ads, because that's a presentation unto itself and not one that I would feel qualified to give at this time.
I show how my tactics have made a difference to my income with as little as three books, though the more books you have, the more you have to play with. Included in the video presentation are the slides and the excel spreadsheet I use to help organize myself.
Of course, in this business there are no guarantees, but I firmly believe there are things we can do that will help us find the success we're looking for. I used to say "I'm bad at marketing" until I realized that Marketing is just a set of actions that can be learned. These are my actions.
